KAFATAHA (ONE ROPE) PROJECT

KAFATAHA PROJECT: BACKGROUND AND INITIATIVE.

The Kafataha (one rope) project has seen significant growth and expansion since its inception during the first lockdown for COVID-19. Our services have now reached the South Island, specifically Christchurch, where we have established a TYT base that is currently running similar programs as our Auckland branch. This expansion has been made possible thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Pacific People, who aimed to encourage community groups to collaborate with counterparts in other cities. The funding received was immensely helpful, enabling the Trust to open new branches not only in Christchurch but also in Hamilton, Whangarei and Tauranga. This expansion has allowed us to serve a wider community and make a positive impact on more young people's lives.
