Our Story:
The To’utupu Tonga Trust /Tongan Youth Trust was established in 1996 by a small group of practitioners from various occupations who had a passion for Tongan youth. This group established a charitable trust with a focus on accommodating Tongan youth and families who found it difficult to settle effectively in the context of Aotearoa, New Zealand. There was a downfall and a barrier between our Tongan youth and society due to the lack of communication, generation differences, racial judgement and wanted to put an end to it or at least reduce it. That being said the main focus of the Trust is the Tongan youth however it is not limited to the Tongans only but Youth in general, to restore hope and guide them so that they may reach their dreams with no limit.
Our Team:
We are committed to serve the needs of young people and their Kainga. To impact and strengthen the wellbeing of vulnerable Tongan Youth and their Kainga, by implementing equity, leadership, and sustainability through education; support programmes and projects ensuring the most sustainable outcome for their futures.
